The Tax Collector collects :

• New Sewickley Township real estate tax  (1.65 mills) (2024)
• New Sewickley Township fire protection tax (.3 mills) (2024)

• Freedom Area School District tax (9.5 Mills) (2024)
• Local Service Tax

The tax collector also issues permits for the removal of mobile homes.

Office Hours:
March/April/July/August:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 to 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday Evening Dates for Township Tax: March 5, April 2, and April 30 5-7PM
  • Tuesday evenings for School Tax: July 2, July 30, and August 27 5-7PM

May/June/September-February 28

  • Tuesday and Thursday  9:30  to 3:00 p.m.

    Appointments are always available.

Payments may be made at the Tax Office located in the Township Building, 233 Miller Road, Rochester, PA 15074.
Payments may be made by cash, check or money order.  The New Sewickley Township Tax Office is not able to accept debit or credit cards.

Payments may be mailed to Samantha Sharpless, Tax Collector, 233 Miller Road, Rochester, PA 15074.  If a receipt is desired, please enclose a self addressed stamped envelope and the entire bill.

Some mortgage companies did not advise the tax collector to forward their client’s bills to them this year.  Therefore, those bills have been sent to the resident’s home.  If you receive a bill and believe your mortgage company is to pay it from your escrow account, forward your bill immediately to the mortgagor upon your receipt of same.

Real Estate Taxes
Mailed first week of March.  If you did not receive a statement and taxes are owed, it is your responsibility to advise the tax collector so that she can send you a statement.  By law, non receipt of a tax statement does not absolve you from paying taxes that are your responsibility.
2023 Taxes due at:

Discount:     March 1-April 30

Face:              May 1-June 30

Penalty:       July 1 – March 31, 2025

The 2024 taxes that are not paid by March 31, 2025 are turned into the Beaver County Tax Claim Office for filing.  Tax Claim Phone No. 724-770-4480

School Taxes

If you did not receive a statement and taxes are owed, it is your responsibility to advise the tax collector so that she can send you a statement.  By law, non receipt of a tax statement does not absolve you from paying taxes that are your responsibility.  Millage for school taxes are set in June.

2024 Taxes due at:

DISCOUNT- July 1 – August 31

FACE- September 1 – October 31

PENALTY- November 1 – December 31, 2024

A Three month installment  payment plan is available with due dates listed on the upper right hand corner of your bill.  You must adhere to the plan payment dates. Late payments cause you to pay the penalty amount.

School taxes not paid by December 31, 2024 are turned into the Beaver County Tax Claim Office for filing. Tax Claim Phone No.  724-770-4480
Name or address changes for tax bills must be provided to the Beaver County Assessment Office by the property owner.  Phone No.  724-770-4480

Commercial Entities who require tax receipts or information contained in tax receipts are charged $5.00 per parcel. Checks payable to Samantha Sharpless.

Tax Certification fee is $20.00 per parcel. Checks made payable to Samantha Sharpless.
